I know Microsoft wants to push all updates but there needs to be a way for Update to check if Defender is on and then NOT TRY TO INSTALL THE UPDATE or let it be installed without needing Defender turned on so that there is no error.

Live Update first shipped in the 1997 version of Norton Anti Virus 2.0 and soon followed in other products.
But what about the compatibility of the old programs. Mostly all antiviruses companies have already prepared for this new update in the market.
Some companies have already released their next edition along with Windows 10.
A valid subscription is required to use Symantec Live Update.
